Pottle Scholarship

The Pottle Scholarship was established many years ago in memory of Mr. and Mrs. A. Moulton Pottle. The Pottles served Lee Academy from 1924 to 1952. They are perhaps one of the most revered couples to be a part of the Lee Academy family; Mrs. Pottle as a teacher and friend, and Mr. Pottle as the principal of LA.

The Pottle Scholarship is awarded each year to a graduate who is going into the field of education.

Alumni Scholarships

The Alumni Association Scholarship was originally established by the Alumni Association. Its equity was built by robust fundraising efforts from the association.

This scholarship is granted at graduation to a senior going into a four-year college program who has displayed good citizenship, loyalty, and service to Lee Academy.

Grades 9-12 Maine Entrance Award

This new scholarship was designed in 2016 with its focus being on the student entering Lee Academy.

It was developed for three reasons:  to fill a need for those students who desire to attend LA but need financial help, to honor the legacy of Lee Academy that has always been one of “creating ways to make it possible for deserving students to attend our school,” and to become a tangible place for those donating to this award to “give in honor” of people and moments in their LA past, or “give in celebration of” a present-day student or occasion.

Not unlike yesteryear when Lee Academy students haled from Marsardis to Cranberry Island and all points east and west, donations to this 9-12 Award help other deserving Maine students create his/her own special memories at Lee Academy.
